"CRUNCHIE"
Ch. NorthWapiti’s Crunchie
(NorthWapiti's Super Grover x Northomes Visa)

There is no need to go on and on talking about Crunchie – anyone that has met him is instantly aware that he is something special. We have coined a phrase to describe that special ‘air about’ him that he possesses - ‘Crunchiness’  He is a one of a kind.  Crunchie has been a fixture in my team since the 03/04 season. He has never been dropped from any team he has been on. He is a constant workhorse. They just don't come any more dependable and capable.

Crunchie is sponsored by Dana and Judy Kevelder

"Q"
Ch. NorthWapiti’s Q
(NorthWapiti's Super Grover x NorthWapiti's Kluane)

Q is a powerful male with the heart of a pussycat. Very friendly and affectionate, but with the quiet, single mindedness that characterized his father, Grover.  A very key dog in our teams and a solid leader.  Incredibly handsome with excellent breed type,  Q is exactly the kind of boy this kennel is striving to produce.

Q is sponsored by Musher Minion Donna Quante.

"Jinx"
NorthWapiti’s Jinx
(NorthWapiti's Super Grover x NorthWapiti's Kluane)

Jinx is THE lead dog at NorthWapiti. She has been the main race leader for the past few years and we hope she will be for a few more. A beautiful gal with a gorgeous build Jinx’s looks are entirely secondary to what she does in harness though. Drive and determination ooze out of her pores.

Jinx is sponsored by Kathryn Clark.

Charge
NorthWapiti’s Charge
(NorthWapiti's Sir Gallahad x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

Charge is a real favorite! He is as driven as any sled dog I've ever hooked up. He is famous in our yard for being as difficult to put away after a long hard run as he was to hook up. I don't know if this boy ever gets tired.   This boy is one of my favorite race dogs and is always on my race team.  They don't come any better than him!

Charge is sponsored by Pat Bach and family

Tess
NorthWapiti’s Tesla
(NorthWapiti's Sir Gallahad x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

As a youngster Tess was just a solid, but plain dog in harness. Tess is now one of the most exciting leaders I've worked with in years. I grin ear to ear every time she is in lead!  One of the best gals in the yard!

Tess, I know you belong to Karen, but will always view you as "my girl". Will be watching from afar this year. Marlene Daniels

Runner
Kelim’s Running for NorthWapiti
(NorthWapiti's Lincoln of Kelim, SDX, CGC x Rusty Polar's Diamond)

Runner LOVES being a long distance sled dog. He not only gets to run – but you get to eat all the time. His two favorite things! Runner has turned into a dependable leader. One of the hardest working dogs we own.

Runner is sponsored by Maureen Zavodjancik.

Bingo
NorthWapiti's Bingo

(NorthWapiti's Draci & NorthWapiti's Nahanni)

Bingo is as pretty and as sweet as they come. She may not be as noisy and outspoken as some of our dogs, but she puts in solid performances with little fuss time after time.  She took a little longer to mature than her sister Bang, but is now a main team member and leader!

Bingo is sponsored by Mary Atkinson.

- 6 Years, Main Leader  -

Bang
NorthWapiti's Bango

(NorthWapiti's Draci & NorthWapiti's Nahanni)

Bang came back to us a few years ago.  She quickly showed us that she is a fabulous leader and solid team member.  She easily made my Iditarod team and even lead the team out of the start chute!  We are thrilled to have 'Bang Bang' in front of our team!  A main leader for sure!

Bang is sponsored by Kathy Carmichael.

- 6 Years, Team Dog  -

Irving
NorthWapiti's Irving

(NorthWapiti's Draco & NorthWapiti's Nahanni)

A few years back Irving battled an eye injury that just wouldn’t heal. It finally became obvious that the best thing for Irving was to have the eye removed. It was a good decision, as he seems much more comfortable and happy without it. We have seen no sign that the missing eye is going to slow this big, strong dog down. A very strong and hard driving dog.

Good luck to all - Rachel and the Wyoming Siberian pack!

Wolvie
NorthWapiti's Wolverine

(NorthWapiti's Super Grover &NorthWapiti's Valkyrie Kara)

Wolvie displays that serious, no nonsense, 'Grover' approach to life. A very dependable, consistent team member who is always happy to do his job!! A handsome boy with a beautiful build.  It's hard not to fall in love with the Wolverine!

Wolvie's 2012 Sponsors are Brenda Potter, Carolyn Martin and Mark Fraser. Go Wolvie!

- 6 Years, Team Dog  -

Wonder
NorthWapiti's Wonder Woman

(NorthWapiti's Super Grover &NorthWapiti's Valkyrie Kara)

If ever there was a dog that could come close to being another ‘Kara’ it is this little gal. Sweet, good with cats, solid in harness, and pretty as all get out.

Hugs to beautiful Wonder (Woman) from Ursula, John (in spirit) and Tia Rempel

- 6 Years, Upcoming Leader  -

X
NorthWapiti’s Excelsior
(NorthWapiti's Robert E Lee x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

X is sponsored by Sadie, Bandit and Zack Corbin

- 5 Years, Team Dog  -

Casey
NorthWapiti's Casey
(CH. NorthWapiti's Q x NorthWapiti's Sprite)

The rumor in the mushing community is that "Red dogs don't run". Casey says she doesn't listen to rumors and it shows. A hard working girl who has shown some nice lead potential.

Alice Fitzgerald is sponsoring Casey in addition to her sponsorship of Herman, which is co-sponsored with her son Travis, so they can continue to sponsor the next great generation of North Wapiti dogs!

Rocket
NorthWapiti's Rocket
(NorthWapiti's Draco x Chlout's Hilda of NWapiti)

That Crazy Dancing Dog, as she is often referred to is not only a delight to be around, she is growing up to be one absolutely amazing leader. Never stressed, always happy and willing to please - we are pretty star struck by our 'Rocket Girl'.

Rocket is sponsored by Deb Custer.

Wifi
Carmack's Wifi of NorthWapiti
(NorthWapiti's Robert E Lee x NorthWapiti's See Spot Run)

Wiffie is loud and obnoxious - that is until he gets moving in  harness. Then he is ALL business. Head down and mind strictly on the trail!  Not a big boy, but a big attitude!  Wifi quickly made it onto the main race team and we expect him to be there for years to come!!  He's also turning into quite a nice leader!

Wifi is sponsored by Barbara and Jerry Lake of Hampton, TN

- 4 Years, Leader  -

See
NorthWapiti's Sesequon
(NorthWapiti's Skor x NorthWapiti's Kluane)

The first day we hooked See up she was rather convinced that she really wanted nothing to do with the sport of mushing. It only took a couple hundred feet to convince her to give it a try and by the end of the run she had completely reconsidered her decision.  She is now one of my hardest driving young dogs and upcoming main leaders!! Go See!

See, though we aren't near enough to watch you perform, we'll be
following you every step of the way on the computer. Go girl go.
Marlene and Doug Daniels

- 4 Years, Leader  -

Meg
NorthWapiti's Megasis
(NorthWapiti's Skor x NorthWapiti's Kluane)

Meg is nothing like her big sister, See and big brother, Utin. She is much smaller and cuter - but when it comes to work ethic, she matches them pretty much stride for stride! In fact, this season she is fast becoming one of my 'go to' main leaders.

Meg is sponsored by the Joyners (CJ, Dana, Mattie, and Ethan): We're sponsoring a very special young lady.  Hope to see her in Alaska.  You go girl!

- 4 Years, Team Dog  -

Beauty
NorthWapiti's Black Beauty
(NorthWapiti's Sir Gallahad x CH NorthWapiti's Valkyrie Kara)

The aptly named Beauty is another of those very 'Kara like' Kara daughters. As far as I'm concerned, the more of these the merrier!

Beauty is sponsored by friends of Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue Fund

- 4 Years, Upcoming Leader  -

TopDog
NorthWapiti's TopDog
(NorthWapiti's Sir Gallahad x CH NorthWapiti's Valkyrie Kara)

TopDog has been my pick of this lovely litter from the start. He is showing great promise in harness and is a fun boy to work with!

Barb and Mike Branham and Cheryl Dawson are delighted to share sponsorship of Top Dog.

Billie
NorthWapiti's Hillbilly
(NorthWapiti's Detonator x Chlout's Hilda of NWapiti)

Although we are careful when we place dogs, sometimes it happens that the owner and dog aren't perfectly suited for each other. Such was the case with Billie, so I purchased her back 2 yrs ago..  My original thought was to work with Billie for a bit and then place her, however she is working out so well that she is staying permanently!  Another up and coming leader!  Maybe she will follow in her Mother's footsteps?!

Billie is sponsored by LaRita Skipper.

- 4 Years, Team Dog  -

Roscoe
NorthWapiti's Roscoe
(NorthWapiti's Detonator x Chlout's Hilda of NWapiti)

Roscoe is going to end up being a fan favorite in our yard because the big white lightning bolt zagging across his back makes him very easy to pick out. His super friendly and hard working personality is going to make him a favorite of ours too!  A fantastic team dog with super work ethic.

Roscoe is co- sponsored by Diane Shepard of Glendale, AZ and Jackie Phalen of Maple Park, IL.

- 4 Years, Upcoming Leader  -

Smartie
NorthWapiti’s Smartie
(CH. NorthWapitil's Crunchie x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

A dead ringer for her fabulous father, Crunchie. Even in harness we can see the similarities. She is really putting in some super runs in lead.  A VERY exciting gal!

Smartie is proudly sponsored by Karen Ernest and Trina!

- 4 Years, Upcoming Leader  -

Turtle
NorthWapiti’s Turtle
(CH. NorthWapitil's Crunchie x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

We had high hopes for Turtle as a pup in harness and he is proving us right. A few months into the 2010/2011 training season, Turtle got very serious about his job and I am overwhelmed with his attitude and drive. An outstanding youngster.

Turtle is sponsored by Kathryn and Pete Trussell, Frank and Paula Langenstein

- 3 Years, Team Dog  -

Kelly
NorthWapiti’s Kelly
(Chlout's Moses of Velikaya x CH. NorthWapiti's Valkyrie Kara)

Kelly is very pretty with a solid and dependable work ethic. Nothing flashy about her, but a nice little working girl.

Kelly is sponsored by Deb Bok

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

Tramp
NorthWapiti’s Tramp
(Chlout's Moses of Velikaya x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

Tramp watched WAY too many Disney movies as a youngster and can't seem to get the idea out of her head that you don't need to bark as you run down the trail!! Pretty soon she is going to start believing that her name is "TRAMP SHUT UP!!!!". She's a brat, but worth the extra work!!

Tramp is sponsored by Chugiak Kennels, Nelson New Zealand

- 2 Years, Upcoming Leader  -

Astro
NorthWapiti’s Astro
(Chlout's Moses of Velikaya x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

aka Scar. Astro isn't a fighter, but he seems to have an uncanny knack for sticking his nose in places he shouldn't and ending up with scars!! A superstar in the two year old pool. Beautiful and hard working.

SPONSOR ASTRO

Experienced Rookies
(not raced, but been through at least one season of serious training)

- 3 Years, Team Dog  -

Rocky
NorthWapiti’s Rocky
(NorthWapiti's MegaWatt x NorthWapiti's Sprite)

Rocky has ridiculously long legs and a ridiculous hard working attitude. He is also just a nice youngster to hang out with. One of my VERY favorites!!!

Roscoe is co- sponsored by Diane Shepard of Glendale, AZ and Jackie Phalen of Maple Park, IL.

- 3 Years, Team Dog  -

Boo
NorthWapiti’s BooKoo
(NorthWapiti's MegaWatt x NorthWapiti's Sprite)

One of the prettiest moving dogs we own. No wasted movement, everything is straight forward. One of my absolute favorite youngsters!

Happy Running! Tammy Taylor

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

Snert
NorthWapiti’s Snert
(Chlout's Moses of Velikaya x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

A handsome and hard working young dog. I expect big things from him in the years to come.

SPONSOR SNERT

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

Skookum
NorthWapiti’s Skookum
(Chlout's Moses of Velikaya x Alaskan's Olena of Anadyr)

Skookum is a native word whose definition is listed as things like "strong", "brave", "splendid". That gives Skookum, who is actually named after the Doug Uquart comic "Skookum North" has some big shoes to grow into.

SPONSOR SKOOKUM

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

Jack
RiverIce's Whiskey Jack
(CH. Chuchinka's Nikolai 2nd x NorthWapiti's KitKat)

Hands down Jack is the loudest, most obnoxious dog in our yard - but he packs a big work ethic along with that big mouth!! Thank goodness!!

Jack is sponsored by KitKat, Raven, Pete and Piper

True Rookies
(First Serious Year Of Training/Racing)

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

"POP"
NorthWapiti’s Pop
(CH. NorthWapiti's Crunchie x NorthWapiti's Sprite)

With his stunning coloring it is hard not to fall in love with Pop at first sight. Once you watch him work in harness, it is harder still not to fall under his spell!!

Pop is sponsored by Arctis Carts

- 2 Years, Team Dog  -

"SNAP"
NorthWapiti’s Snap
(CH. NorthWapiti's Crunchie x NorthWapiti's Sprite)
