Surge was the youngest member of our 2001 Iditarod team. His
playful, fun loving nature continues, even though he is far from a
'puppy' now. This dog just gets stronger and stronger the more
miles he travels. In '04, about 10 miles outside of Nome, I was
overwhelmed by how strong and powerful he looked. The 1000+ miles
seemed to have taken absolutely no toll on him. He is an
incredible athlete!
