As part of our fundraising we are offering the opportunity to sponsor a specific dog. For $300 Cdn. sponsors get their name listed on this website and cool NorthWapiti Memorabilia . (Click this link for information on currency exchange rates.)

Of the 41 dogs listed, approximately 24 of these will accompany us up to Alaska and 16 will make our Iditarod team. We cannot guarantee anyone's sponsored dog will make the race teams - but 2010 NorthWapiti memorabilia will be issued to all sponsors regardless of whether or not their dog of choice participates in the Iditarod.

Sprite NorthWapiti’s Sprite (Butch x Jumper)	Sprite is the kind of gal any kennel would be thrilled to own. She is pointed in the show ring, an excellent leader, and a super producer. She and Moses were the two leaders that led me into Nome last year – that tells how highly we think of Spritey – Dite. Sprite is so glad that Dan Rehak and Heather Walls of Pittsburgh, PA. have remained her faithful sponsors again this year. Barq NorthWapiti’s Barq’s Got Bite (Butch x Jumper)	Barq took a long time to actually make the main string, but this past year he showed that he was easily worth the wait. Herman Chlout’s Herman of NorthWapiti	'The Hermanator', as Mark often calls him - Herman is all business. He just wants to get to work! One of the most consistent and solid sled dogs we own. Irreplaceable. He has made every Iditarod team since 2004! Herman is very pleased and thankful that Alice Fitzgerald and her son Travis of North Stonington, CT are once again sponsoring him and have remained faithful to him. Hector Chlout’s Hector of NorthWapiti	Hector is a character. During Iditarod 2004 he took great delight in starting 'group howls' in checkpoints along the Race. Just outside of White Mountain - on a cold, clear morning - he led the team in a stirring song to start us on the last leg of our journey to Nome. It is a memory I will always cherish. He has made every Iditarod team since 2004! Dasher Ch. NorthWapiti’s Dasher (Butch x Kara)	Dasher is a little ‘party gal’. Always looking for a good time and never serious about anything. However, she has been the ‘go to’ leader in the yard for the last few season, so “PARTY ON DASHER”. Dasher thanks Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue Fund for supporting her once again this year while she is getting ready for Iditarod and working hard to get all the younger dogs up to speed! Jr NorthWapiti’s Long May You Run (Grover x Joey)	Junior was so named because he has the same serious demeanor of his Dad and the stunning blue eyes of his mother, but he has definitely blazed his own path as a sled dog. Very hard driving and always up to hit the trail. Very dependable and a valued member of the team! Junior is very pleased to have Deb Bok of Alberta, Canada as his sponsor this year. Q Ch. NorthWapiti’s Q (Grover x Kluane)	If I’m looking for a leader that will explicitly follow instructions and keep the team out of trouble – Q is the one to pick. He’s been doing a great job training leaders for me this season and is getting better and better himself along the way! A very key dog. CH. Jinx NorthWapiti’s Jinx (Grover x Kluane)	Dropping Jinx in Ophir was one of my biggest disappointments of the 2008 Iditarod. As I expected in 2009 Jinx definitely stepped up to become one of the top lead dogs in the kennel. I expect her to be THE lead dog at NorthWapiti for years to come. Spider Tumnatki’s Ms Muffet N’Wapiti (Comet x KitKat)	Super cute and super speedy. A great leader and a real joy to drive! Charge NorthWapiti’s Charge (Surge x Olena)	We weren't entirely sure of what to think of Charge when he was young. He was big and lanky, even as a puppy. Now there is no question - he is a real favorite! He is as driven as any sled dog I've ever hooked up. He is famous in our yard for being as difficult to put away after a long hard run as he was to hook up. I don't know if this boy ever gets tired. Charge is so proud to have Pat and Mel Bach of Albrightsville, PA as his sponsors again this year and wonders if they enjoy sunbathing and playing with their neighbors as much as he does! Tess NorthWapiti’s Tesla (Surge x Olena)	As a yearling, Tess was not very outstanding. She was just a solid, but plain dog in harness. This year she boldly announced that she was sick of being a 'wallflower'. Tess is shaping up to be one of the most exciting leaders I've worked with in years. I grin ear to ear every time she is in lead! Tess was confident that Marlene would sponsor her again this year and is grateful for all of Marlene's kindness and gifts to the kennel. Runner Kelim’s Running for NorthWapiti (Lincoln x Diamond)	I got Runner from Kim and Kelly Berg of Kelim Siberians. When they sold him to me I told them they were making a big mistake selling him. They really get that now. Runner LOVES being a long distance sled dog. He not only gets to run – but you get to eat all the time. His two favorite things. Runner is proud to have Maureen Zavodjancik of Connecticut as his sponsor this year and likes to show it by gathering things along the trail! X NorthWapiti's Excelsior (Squeaky & Olena)	X has been the favoured 'child' in this litter since they were about 3 months old. There is just something about him and he continues to be one of the very special ones in the yard. I guess when your nicknames are 'Xtraordinary' and 'Xcellent X' and 'Xquisit', how can you help but growing up Xtra special?? X is high fiving with his pal Rocky because Ursula and John Rempel of Winnipeg, MB are sponsoring him. He has a special affection for the Rempel's for bringing his Dad, Squeaky back to NorthWapiti. Bingo NorthWapiti's Bingo (Draco & Nahanni)	Bingo is as pretty and as sweet as they come. She may not be as noisy and outspoken as some of our dogs, but she puts in solid performances with little fuss time after time. Bang NorthWapiti's Bango (Draco & Nahanni)	Bang just came back to live with us this past spring. She had been leading another Siberian distance team for the past couple years. I am thrilled to have this dynamic leader back in the yard! This is one dog I never should have sold! Flash NorthWapiti's Flash Gordon (Grover & Kara)	Having Grover and Kara for your parents makes Flash a prince in the kennel right from the start. Big, handsome - but for some strange reason - NOISY!! Fritz NorthWapiti's Fritz (Grover & Spot)	Fritz’s breeding was done to try and get as close a pedigree to NorthWapiti's Super Grover as possible - and he does share a lot of traits with his superstar Dad. Irving NorthWapiti's Irving (Draco & Nahanni)	Last year Irving battled an eye injury that just wouldn’t heal. Come fall it became obvious that the best thing for Irving was to have the eye removed. It was a good decision, as he seems much more comfortable and happy without it. We have seen no sign that the missing eye is going to slow this big, strong dog down. He continues to put in excellent runs and we expect him to be a serious contender for the main string this season! Irv is so pleased to have Mary Curtis of New Jersey sponsor him this year, he says she is smart to pick the only one eyed dog in the kennel.	Rookie 4
Xena NorthWapiti's Xena (Grover & Kara)	The best way to talk about Xena is to let you all in on her nickname – ‘Bubbles’. That really says all there is to say about her. She is one high energy, happy dog! ON HOLD	Rookie 4
Trigger Kazlo's Trigger of NorthWapiti (Chester x Whinny)	Trigger looks and acts so much like her Dad it has made me catch my breath on a number of occasions. In harness she may not be quite as bright as star as her Dad yet, but she is still young! She has already put a few solid runs in as a leader. Her Dad would be proud. ON HOLD	Rookie 3
Shooter Kazlo's Shooter of NorthWapiti (Chester x Whinny)	Shooter has the same 'waggy' tail and happy go lucky attitude that his Dad, Chester was famous for. With time I expect that he will be very similar in performance too - and that is something to be excited about. Shooter is head over heels that Joanne and Amanda Lee of Taylor Creek Quilt Studio have sponsored him this year. Shooter loves the beautiful quilts Taylor Creek Quilt Studio makes and is hoping to have one for the inside of his dog house!	Rookie 3
Dew NorthWapiti's Do The Dew (Butch x Jumper)	Dewsie is outgoing and very keen on her job. Not quite ready to lead, but in all other aspects she is an outstanding young sled dog! Casey NorthWapiti's Casey (Q x Sprite)	Casey is her Mom, Sprite, in a red fur coat. They even have the same silly kink in their tail. I expect one day Casey to be nipping at her Mom's tail looking for her main string leader position. True Rookies (First Serious Year Of Racing)
Utin NorthWapiti's Utin (Skor x Kluane)	AMAZING is about the only work adequate to describe this boy. A dynamic dog in harness, a promising obedience prospect (if I would ever get my act together) and a generally terrific dog to live with. This is the cream of the 2 year old crop! Meg NorthWapiti's Megasis (Skor x Kluane)	Meg is nothing like her big sister, See and big brother, Utin. She is much smaller and cuter - but when it comes to work ethic, she matches them pretty much stride for stride! See NorthWapiti's Sesequon (Skor x Kluane)	The first day we hooked See up she was rather convinced that she really wanted nothing to do with the sport of mushing. It only took a couple hundred feet to convince her to give it a try and by the end of the run she had completely reconsidered her decision. She is now one of my hardest driving young dogs!! Go See! Tie NorthWapiti's Black Tie (Surge x Kara)	Tie is a male version of his mother, Kara. Handsome, hardworking - and he does 'the Kara Dance'. He's the total package!! Tie is jumping for joy in his excitement over Don and Mary Uhlir of Arizona for sponsoring him.	Rookie 2
Roscoe NorthWapiti's Roscoe (Nate x Hilda)	Roscoe is going to end up being a fan favorite in our yard because the big white lightning bolt zagging across his back makes him very easy to pick out. His super friendly and hard working personality is going to make him a favorite of ours too! Billie NorthWapiti's Hillbilly (Nate x Hilda)	Although we are careful when we place dogs, sometimes it happens that the owner and dog aren't perfectly suited for each other. Such was the case with Billie, so I purchased her back earlier this year. My original thought was to work with Billie for a bit and then place her, however she is working out well enough here that I think the gal is going to hang around for a long while! Billie is doing somersaults in her excitement to have LaRita Skipper of Ward, AR sponsor her.	Rookie 2
Smartie NorthWapiti’s Smartie (Crunchie x Olena)	A dead ringer for her fabulous father, Crunchie. Even in harness we can see the similarities. She may be a bit young for the main string this season, but his is a gal to watch!
